Born of the realization that most thinking in human beings is an emotion-driven process, of understanding or being "convinced" of the rightness when something "rings true".
Emotions can be considered to have three components:
1 - Non-physical components (psychic: astral, causal (karmic) mental and the imagination)
2 - Electromagnetic components
3 - Chemical (endocrine bloodstream) components
So what is actually happening in the human mind when we agree with a statement such as:
1 + 1 = 2
as opposed to when we read:
1+1 = 3
I postulate that "being in agreement" ultimately results in a state of fine chemical-balance within the Central Processing Unit (or units) of the Human Mind-Brain entity.
If chemical computers were ultimately to be developed, the equivalent of current silicon-based logic-gates might one day be replaced by chemicallly-balanced processes (such as pH buffered solutions) within the magneto-electro-bio-chemical mind of the BabyRobotBrain.
Brain Chemistry is one of the least-understood processes of the human-body, and I put forward that a better, calmly, serenely, scientifically-repeatable exploration of our own human-brain-chemistry could reveal many circuits, bio-feedback loops and mechanisms, that have currently been overlooked, and which could in time, and with adequate research, be replicated in the laboratory then ultimately implemented into the construction of an electro-bio-chemical BabyRobot Brain EBC-BRB.
Currently only a few of the chemicals that control circuits in the brain are really properly understood. Listed below are a few of the more common ones that spring to mind:
Each chemical in its own way is still relatively simplistic and fairly "crude" or even dareisay brutal in its operation. Eventually however, I postulate that more subtle chemicals and chemical-circuitry will be discovered, that will lead to the development of a finer science of mood, thought-and perception-alterating chemicals.
Eventually, I believe, we will be able to discover, isolate, and simulate the exact blend of bio-chemicals that lead to such commonly experienced moods and emotional states such as:
Could all these experiences of emotional states really be as simple to induce as imbibing a chemical cocktail from a test-tube?
I suggest yes, but as in the same way that a BabyRobot would only be able to interpret a smile from a frown by image-analysis and thereby conclude if a person were apparently happy or sad, I believe it will only be possible for us to experience each and every one of these chemically-induced emotions as an MCIS - "momentary-chemically-induced-state", which, without the appropriate backdrop and context, would be devoid of actual "meaning". This is akin to those individuals who report experiences of contact with "God" after imbibing of recreational drugs - the consciousness may well have been opened up by the chemcial, but without the proper context what use / purpose / meaning would such a drug-induced state actually offer?
I believe that IMPORTANCE ASSIGNMENT in the human-mind-brain is a chemically-manifested state, based on the indentification of Electrochemical Patterns by the areas of our Consciousness which are responsible for forming a meaningful, realistic picture of reality within our imagining faculties, described by such terms as:
I think the differences in personality between all human beings are created by their unique chemical configurations, which result in people being "seized with purpose" and chemically conditioned for success or failure.
On a personal level I can't stress how much I believe "CHEMISTRY" will be the next big breakthrough in understanding all psychological dynamics and conditions.
